You‘re invited! Eco-friendly fashion exhibit tour in D.C.
Join me for insights on the clothing mending movement and what “green” design really means.
I’m hosting my first Souvenirist event! If you’re anywhere close to D.C., please join me Friday June 27 at noon for a docent-led tour of the Textile Museum’s new exhibit, “Source Material: Lessons in Responsible Fashion.”
The exhibit delves into how mending garments, recycling textiles, and other methods can help us have our clothes and feel good about the environment, too. Expect historic artifacts (a 19th-century Japanese coat made of reused scraps) as well as contemporary fashions (Green Matters vegetable-dyed dresses).
The tour is free; admission to the museum is by a suggested donation of $6 a person. Spots are limited so please RSVP via this Eventbrite link. Anyone interested can also join the group for lunch afterward.
